What’s New on Social? Podcast Question: does the quality of vodka matter in a bloody?

Just my opinion-no. I have never had a bad headache from ““ low quality vodka in  a bloody Mary.

$$ Jodi Parks Roos:

Yes… because bad vodka causes headaches

1.
💬 “Not really. Once you’ve got all that tomato juice, spice, and pickle juice in there, nobody’s tasting Grey Goose. Save the good stuff for martinis.”
— Travis H., Milwaukee, WI

2.
💬 “It matters a little — cheap vodka can make it taste harsh, especially if you drink it before the ice melts. I go mid-shelf — Tito’s or Prairie is my sweet spot.”
— Alana R., Austin, TX

3.
💬 “Absolutely it matters. A clean, smooth vodka makes the difference between a brunch cocktail and a hangover cure. I use Ketel One every time.”
— Mark D., Chicago, IL

4.
💬 “I think the mix does 90% of the work. I’ve had amazing Bloody Marys made with bottom-shelf vodka because the seasoning was perfect.”
— Jen P., Portland, OR

5.
💬 “I make mine with pepper-infused vodka, so yeah — quality and flavor matter. You want that smooth base so the spice pops, not burns.”
— Chris L., Denver, CO

6.
💬 “I used to say no, but after trying one with local craft vodka from Vermont, I changed my mind. It had this clean finish that made everything taste fresher.”
— Nora M., Burlington, VT

7.
💬 “The quality only matters if you’re drinking it straight or in a martini. In a Bloody? It’s like using top-shelf tequila in a margarita — nice, but unnecessary.”
— Ray J., Los Angeles, CA

8.
💬 “I always say: garbage in, garbage out. If your vodka tastes like nail polish remover, your Bloody will too. Go for something decent.”
— Kelly S., Toronto, Canada

9.
💬 “Vodka de buena calidad hace la diferencia. No solo por el sabor, sino porque te sientes mejor después. Yo uso Zhumir o una artesanal local.”
— Andrés M., Cuenca, Ecuador

10.
💬 “Honestly, the garnishes matter more than the vodka. If you’ve got bacon, olives, shrimp, and pickles stacked high — no one’s asking what brand you poured.”
— Maya F., Savannah, GA

Company We Review : Rib Ranger’s Papa Scott’s Crazy Granny B’s Bloody Mary Mix

From prev review:   “Company Story: Rib Rangers is a BBQ Catering and product company – Picked up Papa Scott’s, which won a Silver Medal at Drunken Tomato Awards, and made a few tweaks.

Rib Rangers is a long established BBQ purveyor with more awards than any other BBQ company!  20 years!  They’re not wet behind the ears!  So when they decided to make a bloody Mary mix, they brought that same passion.  All from scratch- even the Worcestershire- No anchovies. No gluten.

Bill and Barbara are out of Denton TX (North of Dallas). Home to TWO Miss America’s!”
